Walnut Pond is a Catch 'n Release only pond located at the end of Walnut Street off of RT 30 North of town. An Annual Youth Fishing Derby for children ages 2-15 is held each summer. View

Walnut Pond is the most popular destination for field trips at Charlotte's Quest. Children search in the pond for crayfish, may fly larvae, minnows and more. The children put their finds into a white basin for them to see and talk about with the Naturalist and their teachers. At the end of the field trip they return all organisms to their natural habitat, Walnut Pond.
